Description:
This is a helmet I beleave was owned by James Henry Patton. No relations to General Patton. I purchased this helmet at a Florida Military Show several years back.  Mr Patton served with the 8th Army. He was also Airborne qualified and went on to serve with the 82nd Airborne 505 PIR hense the Lion on this helmet liner. He also served with the 101st. Mr Patton lived in central Florida so things just started clicking as to the owner. His service story shows him in WW2 and Korea. He left the service having climbed to the rank of Major. I can't explain why there was an Leutenant bar on this liner. Did it bring him good luck. On his grave stone it says Airborne All the Way. $695.00 Bank or Credit Union check will be held for 10 days. The movie Band of Brothers would hilight only the 101st. But there were other Airborne units in the fray. My Uncle was one of them.
