Description:
This is a spectacular all-original Spanish Air Force Star Model S pistol in .380 ACP complete with 2 factory mags, the original box (serial-numbered to gun), the original owner's manual (in Spanish), and the factory parts list (also in Spanish). This little .380 ACP Star looks like it was made last year rather than 1946! The Star Model S was introduced in 1940-41 and was essentially a down-sized version of the Colt 1911 design. Due to the smaller size, they eliminated the grip safety but otherwise the controls and construction of the gun was very similar. The Model S was used by a number of armed forces and police forces of several countries however a comprehensive list is unavailable. The guns used were commercially made and purchased weapons rather than specific contracts. The small size of the pistol lent itself well to police officers, soldiers, and pilots where space was a priority or where concealment was important. There are reports of German Luftwaffe pilots carrying them in WW2 but those pistols were never given Waffenamts. This particular example was made in 1946 and used by the Spanish Air Force and is marked on both the frame and slide with the Spanish Air Force crest. The crest is a small eagle within a circle with wings on either side and circled with the words "Armas Servicios Aviacion Ejercite del Aire" which translates to "Weapons Service Aviation Air Force". As you can see from the pictures, the original factory blue finish is still in excellent condition overall with only some very minor spots of finish wear and some tiny handling marks. All of the factory markings as well as the Air Force markings are crisp and clear, and all of the serial numbered parts are matching except for the magazines, which are factory originals but serial numbered to different guns. The case colors on the hammer are still in beautiful condition, showing nice bright color on all sides of the hammer. The bore in the 4" inch barrel is mirror-bright and perfect, with sharp rifling and no visible imperfections. The original factory grips are also in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/damage. The Star logos on both grips are crisp and handsome. The action on this pistol is smooth and slick, and the barrel lock-up with the slide in battery is nice and tight. All of the controls on this Star Model S are in perfect working order, including the thumb safety and the magazine release. This semi-auto Star Model S should still function just like new. As mentioned previously, this Star comes complete with it's original box with both the end-label still intact and serial numbered to the gun. The original owner's manual and part list are still in great shape as well, although they are totally in Spanish. This pistol comes with two magazines, both of which are in great shape with clean feed lips and strong follower springs. If you have been looking for a cool and unique new addition to your military weapons collection this Spanish Air Force Star Model S in .380 ACP would be a great choice. This has to be one of the cleanest and most complete examples on the market today!
