JONATHAN BROWNING MOUNTAIN RIFLE, .50 CALIBER PERCUSSION HALF-STOCK RIFLE WITH BROWNED BARREL, LOCK AND BRASS FURNITURE. These 1970s-1980s muzzle loaders were some of the very best produced. They feature the distinctive rams horn around the nipple and single set trigger (just push it forward until it "sets" and then you have a "hair trigger" with an adjustable very light pull). This example has a very dark reddish brown stock with brass butt plate, toe plate, trigger guard, forend cap, ramrod thimbles and wedge & escutcheons. Original adjustable rear sight with original blade front sight. Cheek piece on stock. Needs only a ramrod- easily replaced from any of a number of muzzle loading supply companies. I ran a thick oily patch down the bore and it came out perfectly clean. Some light wear to the brown on the 30" octagon barrel and a few handling marks in the stock, but overall very fine and ready for the field. I've been shooting one of these since the early 1980s and wouldn't think of parting with it! They don't often show up for sale anymore.
