Description: BARREL 40". CALIBER .58. LOCK IS DATED 1863. TANG IS DATED 1862 Likely made about Jan. 1863. Finished in the white. Lock has US with Colts address. Left side of barrel has the VP proof along with NJ for "New Jersey militia". Left side of stock has same type NJ stamp. Standard features include two leaf folding rear sight, three bands, ramrod, near full length walnut stock, sling swivels and comes with bayonet. Condition.
