.60 caliber 36.75"" octagonal to round barrel Board of Ordnance altered Trade Gun by Galton. Metal is a dark brown patina with scattered surface oxidation noted, drum bolster shows minor pitting. Wood is good with handling and usage wear noted. Stock is marked with C/I Broad Arrow/D this most likely is attributed to the Canadian Indian Department. Wrist is wrapped in wire, Action functions correctly. Galton is one of the rare contract guns made for the War of 1812. A scarce Native trade gun!
