Here we have an excellent 1968 mfg Colt Officers Model Match target revolver chambered in .38 Special. Colt made this model in various configurations and calibers from 1953 to 1969. This particular example is chambered in .38 Special and has a 6" inch target barrel and 6-shot fluted cylinder. The bore is very minty with strong rifling. All six chambers of the cylinder are equally as pristine. The rear sight is Colt's "Accro" fully-adjustable target model that would be used on almost all post-war Colt pistols and revolvers that used adjustable sights. The hammer is Colt's new long, wide diamond-checkered Target hammer that became famous on the Colt Python. The original factory grips are Colt's Target-type fully-checkered American Walnut with silver Rampant Colt medallions. This example exhibits only a few very minor handling marks in the original factory gloss blue finish and could pass for being made last week rather than 54 years ago! All of the factory markings are crisp and clean. The action is incredibly smooth and slick in this Colt. It really has to be felt to truly be appreciated. It is in "perfect time" no matter how it is operated, fast or slow, double or single-action. This beautiful Colt would be an excellent addition to any Colt collection or general firearms collection and should continue to be a superb long-term investment.
