Henry Deringer Commemorative Pistol Set .41 Cal
Description: Henry Deringer Commemorative Pistol Set. This beautifully crafted set of unfired Deringer’s was manufactured by Aldo Uberti in 1978 for the "U.S. HISTORICAL SOCIETY" and was one of one thousand sets made (this is set number 141, pistols # 141A & # 141B). These pistols are single-shot, muzzle loading, percussion pistols in .41 caliber. Each pistol is silver mounted and feature gold bands around the 2" barrels. Each pistol has a trap in butt that holds a spare nipple. The pistols are engraved in the period style. The pistols come in a fitted, velvet lined case that's made to resemble a large book and it hides easily on a bookshelf in open sight. Inside the case is a full complement of accessories including a silver powder flask, gold plated ramrod, ebony handled screw driver, ebony handled nipple wrench, bullet mold original certificate of authenticity. There are five lead balls in a hidden compartment beneath the bullet mold. Brilliant color casehardening remains on the hammer and lockplate which are nicely engraved. The breechplug tangs are also engraved and the breechplugs are marked 'DERINGER PHILADELA' and a P in a sunburst. The case is complete with original leather and gilt-decorated book box with a fitted burgundy velour interior, front of book marked "DERINGER" and title on spine. The guns are unfired and this beautiful set comes with the original letter of authenticity, and loading/firing instructions This beautifully made set remains in excellent condition.
