Description:
SALE PENDING NORM R 11/27/22 2D OF 2
Described by authorites as one of the most rare and unique of all of the 1911 variations (meaning prior to the modern wide variety of special models). Produced from approx 1961 to 1974 when they were last cataloged. Designed for ISSF international competion for extreme accuracy (mechanicaly these esp the later varitions which this is are significantly differnt from standart 1911 Gold Cup and National Match guns. They will shoot only 38 wadcutter ammo. (Some nations had prohibitons on the use of 45 ACP).
A great deal has been written about these unusual guns as an on line search will reveal not all of which is correct. What is known is that this , the 3d generation after considerable design mods is the most reliable and accurate. This gun was made in 1963. A total of fewer than 10,000 were known to have been produced during the entire production run.. The most distinquising characteristic when inspected from the outside is the use of Colt Royal (high polish) blue. The designation for this the 3d mode is on the barrel hood and is different from earlier models before they were fully refined and perfected.
They were made to closer tolerances than other models for accuracy.
The conditon is excellent  for its age and a beauty with signs of careful use and handling but no abuse; the deep Royal Blue is striking.
It comes with one mag and no box. If you are interested in one of these exceptional guns and wish to use it be sure it is the 3d gen as this one is as the lst 2 were plagued with issues resovled in the 3d.
We are interested in interesting and quality trades or consignment guns.
Shipping is $ 39.00
