PERSONALIZED and with FACE CARVED STOCK
Here we present an antique Belgian Double Barrel Side by Side Small Bore Shotgun, manufactured circa the 1850s in Liege, Belgium.
This very small bore double was made in a great size to go after small game in the woods. Its 30-1/2 inch barrels made for easy hunting in the dense woods or traipsing through the marsh.
The overall condition is good. The left action fully functions, while the right hammer does not hold in the full-cock notch. Clear, smooth bores remain in good shape for age. The stock is carved with a face and with various designs throughout. Stock is solid. “J. ARC” is hand inscribed on the left buttstock, and a placard that reads “JAMES ARCUS” is on the right. Liege proofs are stamped on the underside of each barrel.
