19th Century Antique 12 Gauge Double Barrel Percussion SIDE x SIDE SHOTGUN
With “FINE TWIST” Barrels
Here we present an antique Double Barrel Side by Side Percussion Shotgun, manufactured circa the mid-19th century in Liege, Belgium. This shotgun makes up for ornate engraving with the choice in wood for the stock as well as the fact that it is very well made. The barrels are marked “FINE TWIST” on the top of the rib. This double would have (and has been) a good companion in the field.
The overall condition is very good. Modestly refinished a while ago. The barrels still show some of their Damascus Twist pattern. The actions are excellent. The nipples are in nice shape and look a bit more recent. The bores are smooth and patinated. The stock has choice grain structure and is solid. A very nice muzzle loading shotgun from 19th Century Europe!
