Description:
Here we have a never fired Winchester Model 94 Saddle Ring Buffalo Bill Commemorative lever action rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester. The Winchester Model 1894 was the first commercial American repeating rifle built to be used with smokeless powder. The 1894 was originally chambered to fire 2 metallic black powder cartridges, the .32-40 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester. In 1895 Winchester went to a different steel composition for rifle manufacturing that could handle higher pressure rounds and offered the rifle in .25-35 Winchester and .30-30 Winchester. The .30-30 Winchester, or .30 WCF (Winchester Centerfire), is the cartridge that has become synonymous with the Model 1894. William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody (February 26, 1846 – January 10, 1917) was an American soldier, bison hunter, and showman. He was born in Le Claire, Iowa Territory (now the U.S. state of Iowa), but he lived for several years in his father's hometown in modern-day Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, before the family returned to the Midwest and settled in the Kansas Territory. Buffalo Bill started working at the age of eleven, after his father's death, and became a rider for the Pony Express at age 15. During the American Civil War, he served the Union from 1863 to the end of the war in 1865. Later he served as a civilian scout for the US Army during the Indian Wars, receiving the Medal of Honor in 1872. One of the most famous and well-known figures of the American Old West, Buffalo Bill's legend began to spread when he was only 23. Shortly thereafter he started performing in shows that displayed cowboy themes and episodes from the frontier and Indian Wars. He founded Buffalo Bill's Wild West in 1883, taking his large company on tours in the United States and, beginning in 1887, in Great Britain and continental Europe. Winchester has commemorated the colorful life of Buffalo Bill with this classic Model 94 lever action chambered in the very popular .30-30 Winchester caliber. This rifle is in as-new unfired condition. This Buffalo Bill Carbine is fitted with a 20 inch full octagon barrel, full tube magazine, open sights, walnut forearm and straight grip stock, and nickel finished hammer, trigger, forend cap, saddle-ring, loading gate, and crescent butt-plate.  The carbine has a attractively roll engraved receiver, a Colonel William F. Buffalo Bill Cody medallion inset into the right side of the stock, roll engraved signature on the tang, and "Buffalo Bill Commemorative" roll engraved on the barrel.  The gun is unfired and in "as new" condition.  Comes with its original numbered to the gun box and all paper-work, including hang tag.
