We normally ship USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day ship. Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. The Lightweight Commander was developed in response to complaints from users of the original Colt 1911A1 about the heavy weight of the pistol (when loaded) and the difficulty of carrying that much weight on a regular basis as well as the difficulty of trying to conceal carry a pistol of that size. The Lightweight Commander is otherwise identical to the 1911A1, except it has a shorter 4.25” long barrel and uses an aluminum frame. This gives it a weight of approximately 1.75 pounds. The original Lightweight Commander was produced between 1970 and 1983. The pistol shown here is a modern Lightweight Commander and a variation of the Model O4842XE chambered in the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. I say variation because the slide here has forward serrations. The usual Model O4842XE when looked up does not have forward serrations. The box and the serial number on the pistol match. According to the consigner, they had to search for quite a while to find this specific variation. Any help with finding more info on this pistol would be appreciated. It has a matte black finish which is in roughly 98 percent condition. There are small spots of finish wear on the slide. The bore is very clean. The pistol is mechanically tight and a high end trigger job has been done. The grips appear to be imitation stag grips but have the Classic Colt Medallion. The Lightweight Commander comes with its original Colt box, manual, Colt checkered black cherry G10 grips, one 9-round factory mag, and one Mec-Gar 10-round magazine.
