This early non prefix Ruger # 1 is in 270 Winchester caliber. You number one collectors know that one of the most rare calibers in a non prefix gun is the 270 Winchester.
Crazy but true. I came upon this gun back in the 80s and bought it from the original owner. I have never shot it and I don't think that my Friend did, it looks new.
Actually it does look like new, no marks dings or any thing else. One way to tell if the stock is original on these early guns is the checkering. Quite a few differences.
This is obvioiusly a model 1B , 26 inch barrel with no sights.
In my estimation the Ruger number 1 is the finest Rifle that Bill Ruger has ever manufactured, I believe that he would agree
