Description:
Serial #EXP3, .22 LR, 4" round barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a rare experimental model 929 revolver manufactured by H&R with a special steel alloy. This unique solid frame, swing out cylinder revolver is in excellent plus condition retaining about 99% plus original blue showing some scattered mild handling marks and a tiny scuff mark or ding on the left edge recoil shield and one cylinder flat that is unobtrusive. Made with an experimental composition steel frame, it has taken on the deep plum tone commonly seen with high nickel content steel alloys. The hammer remains polished bright and all markings are crisp and clear, the base of the grip stamped with factory experimental serial number. The black checkered plastic “Cycolac" grips remain in near excellent condition, the left panel with some scuffs along the high edges. The action functions well mechanically. It comes in a white, one-piece, factory cardboard box with light blue markings that remains in very good plus condition showing some mild scuffs and edge wear, the sides of the box show numerous internal factory codes and marker writing matched to the gun and an old hang tang marked in pen “SPECIAL STEEL FRAME" is also present. An excellent and interesting factory experimental revolver for the advanced H&R collector. FFL
