I believe this to be an original VERY late war M1A1 carbine. Likely in the last 4500 M1A1 rifles produced, as it has an original SA marked pistol grip with an Ord wheel mark on the right side,., a 4 rivet handguard, an SI marked type III front band as well as a type 2 rear sight. Barrel date 12-44
Very good plus condition to excllent condition overall. All parts appear to be proper Inland Division marked, and in lightly used condition. ( I will generate a parts ID sheet as I have done with my other carbines as soon as I can and put a picture up of the sheet ) The stock appears to be an original low wood version, but it does have the circle P mark that we usually associate with a "first run ' stock...? Go figure... I try to not use the words NEVER or ALWAYS when talking about Carbines, Small Block Chevys or Women...!! In any case , Thank you for looking. $3700 .$55 will cover transfer from my FFL to yours. C&R ok.
