Description:
The Merrill Carbine was produced in Baltimore MD by J. Merrill. They were issued to NY 1st, 5th and 18th; Pennsylvania 11th, 17th, and 18th; NJ 1st; Indiana 7th; Wisconsin 1st and 3rd; Kentucky 27th; and finally the Delaware 1st. Some confederate use is documented. This is a
transition model due the knobs used to open the breech.. It is .54 cal with good rifling.and mild corrosion. An assembly number, "62", appears throughout the gun. Approximately 14,500 were produced. No FFL required
