PRE-WW2 THURINGEN "GREEN HEART" DSM 34 .22LR SPORTMODELL TRAINING RIFLE, CIRCA 1934. Modeled after the K98 rifle for commercial and auxiliary military training. In this case the stock disc is stamped "Sold. Bd." for Soldaten Bund(short lived veterans group). Pretty much a complete copy of Mauser's Sportmodell at the time and made by a co-op of Zella-Mehlis manufacturers. All original blue finish and stock finish with slight some fading of both with crisp markings everywhere. Stock with old fracture at upper tang that has been professionally repaired so wont be an issue if fired. 26" barrel with correct original sights(V notch and tangent rear with 25-200 graduations). Barrel stamped 'Kal.22 Lang fur Buchsen" and correct nitro proofs opposite "BUG" proofs and "5mm" as well as matching serial number to receiver. Receiver with Green Heart logo around 'Thuringen" with "Deutches Sportmodell" on side wall. Bolt numbers match but different from rest of gun. No cleaning rod. Original sling. Original steel buttplate. Mint bore and crisp rifling. See Speed's book "Mauser-Smallbores, Sporting, Target & Training Rifles" page 252 about the Thurigen co-op rifles.
