Description:
Built by John Moses Browning in Ogden, Utah. This Model 1878 features a 30 inch octagon barrel that has turned a gray patina with a blade front sight and adjustable rear. Barrel is marked "Browning Bros Ogden, Utah 355". Case hardened frame has turned a silvery gray patina with some light pitting. Also features an "S" shaped lever. Smooth action and a good shiny bore. Wood has several repairs, dings and gouges and is in poor condition. An early Browning prototype that would be at home in any frontier gun collection.
