Description:
This rifle was built by John Moses Browning. This was Browning's first successful design. Rifle features a 34-1/2 inch octagon barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear sight with "Browning Bros Ogden, Utah USA" on top barrel flat and number "525" at rear near chamber. Chamber caliber .45 on barrel flat is blocked by extra added sight dovetail. Case hardened frame has turned a brown patina. Barrel has traces of original blue showing through the brown patina. Bore is good with shine. Walnut wood stock with crescent steel buttplate. Stock has initials "WC" on both sides of the stock. Walnut forearm with hardwood ramrod and iron pipes holding rod. Mechanically it functions properly. A chance to own a rare rifle with only a few hundred estimated to exist. A real piece of American firearms history that would be the center of any gun collection.
