This pair of SC3’s was made in 2003 and although they are a consecutively numbered matched pair, they feature different SC3 game scene engraving patterns. The number 1 gun has a flying woodcock, done in a fine Bulino pattern, on the left side, a flushing pheasant on the right side and pointing dog on the bottom. The number 2 gun has the pointing dog and a bird in the air on the left side, a Pointer on the right side and Woodcock on the bottom. The game scenes are bordered by fine floral/scroll work. Both guns were engraved by Italian Master Engraver, Giacomo Badillini. Mr. Badillini is well known for his engravings on higher grade Perazzi SCO’s. Note: Both trigger guards have the initials: STB with 2003 under the initials done in gold inlay. I will guess that “STB” had originally ordered this pair! The matched pair has 29 ½” barrels factory fitted for Perazzi choke tubes, flat/tapered vent ribs with metal front and mid beads. Bores are listed as 15.9 mm which is .626” bore diameter and I measure them at the same. Barrel weights 1.490 and 1.500 kg = 3.28# and 3.31#..virtually identical. Both guns have their original non-selectable/removable trigger groups and non-automatic safety’s. The buttstocks are cut from similar pieces of extraordinarily grained dark walnut with English/straight grips; 14 ½” LOP over what looks like factory fitted Pachmayr presentation pads; 1 3/8” DAC and 2” DAH with neutral to slight right-hand cast. The forearms are a tapered field style. The guns weigh 7 lbs. 5 oz. each and balance between the hands. Cased together in a Perazzi luggage case with paperwork and a total of 14 Perazzi choke tubes.
