Description:
Whitney produced only about 1,000 of these carbines in both small and large frame, with most of the production believed to have been sent to South and Central America. This carbine is a large frame variation in 44 Caliber which is unusual on a large frame. Features a blade front sight and folding ladder rear. Bore has visible rifling and light scattered roughness. Metal surfaces are a plum/gray patina. VG wood with the correct rifle butt plate and trapdoor for cleaning rod.
