Description:
Fraser 12g. Boxlock Non-Ejector. This was Fraser Economy offering in that it is an A&D box lock action with a snap-on forend. It is not Frasers patent action, which would have been used on the higher grades up the line.
This one has 30" barrels and weighs in at only 6-1/2 lbs. It features a straight grip stock. The choking is .006" and .034". The length of pull is 14-1/2" over a horn buttplate with 1-5/8" and 2-1/2" drops. It has 3/16" cast off for right-hand shooters.
The serial number is 2985. I could not find any definitive dating information by serial number for Fraser guns. So I cannot say if it is pre-1898 or not.
The chambers have been lengthen from 2-1/2 to 2-3/4" at some time. The bores are very nice with some light frosting in front of the forcing cones. The Minimum wall thickness is .033" and it measures .055" at 9" from the breech.
The wood is refinished and barrels re-blued. It is cased in a Jeffs canvas/leather case. The gun is sold as cased with all accessories and case cover.
