An Early U.S. Mexican War & Civil War Issued Simeon North Model 1817 Flintlock Rifle With A Very Old Fine Reconversion On It In Very Nice Condition. The rifle has fine metal and markings throughout. It is dated 1824 on both the lock and barrel. It is U.S. proofed on the barrel along with a number 2. The barrel and lock both show thinning original brown mixing with a natural patina throughout them. The trigger guard and barrel bands have dried oil on them. Their is a set of U.S. Marked Tools inside the patchbox which appear to be perfect copies of the originals.They are case colored. The wood is fine throughout with a visible U.S. Inspectors Cartouche on the backside. The rifle has an excellent bore and very good action in it. This is A Very Nice Example Of A Very Fine Early Reconversion Of A U.S. Civil War Simeon North Model 1817 Flintlock Rifle Complete With A Set Of Tools In The Patchbox!
