The rifle has fine metal and markings throughout. It is dated 1824 on both the lock and barrel. It is U.S. proofed on the barrel along with a number 2. The barrel and lock both show thinning original brown mixing with a natural patina throughout them. The trigger guard and barrel bands have dried oil on them. Their is a set of U.S. Marked Tools inside the patchbox which appear to be perfect copies of the originals.They are case colored. The wood is fine throughout with a visible U.S. Inspectors Cartouche on the backside. The rifle has an excellent bore and very good action in it.
