Hideout Revolver Similar to Colt House Revolver
Here we present an antique U.S. Arms Company “No. 41” Spur Trigger Pocket Revolver, made circa 1874-78. These pocket-sized revolvers and many like them were made by various companies such that the price easily undercut better known and established companies like Colt. As a result, many of Colt’s similar lines (such as the New Line or House Revolvers) were shut down for their inability to compete. During a time when many, if not most people carried a firearm, these affordable little revolvers were small enough to conceal and carry, yet provide some level of protection or peace of mind, even when the town did not allow firearms within its limits.
The overall condition is good+. The action is generally strong and has great mainspring tension and hammer notches, but the cylinder hand doesn’t always catch to properly index the cylinder. Cylinder lockup is good, however. Nice bore with good rifling. Both grips are in good shape with an average amount of wear.
