SERIAL NUMBER 1058642 BARREL 5" CALIBER .45 ACP. MANUFACTURED 1943. Parkerized finish with proper borderless checkered hammer, short checkered stamped trigger, proper checkered arched mainspring housing and "HS" marked barrel. Inspected RCD (Robert C Downie). and has blue finished General Shaver Mfg, magazine with welded seam on spine. Fitted with Keys checkered plastic grips with reinforced screw slots and interior. CONDITION, Very good as post war armory refinished. Bore is very good with strong rifling and action operates properly. Comes in USGI 1944 Milwaukee Saddlery Co. Holster in nice condition. While Colt produced about 500,000 1911-A1 pistols for WWII,
Union Switch & Signal made only near 50.000 units. C&R Ok
Excellent example of the low production model. A great piece of US WWII history to invest in.
