S A L E P E N D I N G . . . . . Maynard Civil War Carbine...NICE... .LAYAWAY?........50 caliber. 20" barrel length. SN: 15839. Blued metal finish to barrel and case hardened finish to frame. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip with squared butt. Tip down breechloading percussion rifle with two leaf folding rear notch sight and blade front sight. Item features a saddle bar and ring to left side of frame. Markings include EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/MAY 27, 1851./DEC 6, 1859. to left side of frame, and MANUFACTURED BY/MASS. ARMS CO./CHICOPEE FALLS on right side of frame. Barrel is marked with an N on left side of Nock's Form. Left side of stock wrist is marked with two inspector cartouches, a horizontal boxed GWS George W. Sherman mark and a vertical boxed JM James Mills mark.
Condition:
Very Good+. Bore is bright, with a line of residue and light pitting to top of bore, possibly cleaned at some point. Barrel retains original bluing under scattered untouched patina. Some oxidation. Frame finish is dark due to oxidation. Stock shows minor wear overall. Action is properly functional. .....2nd firearm ships FREE, with this one!.... S/H $55....Thanks...Greg cp
