Description:
SOLD......This is an ultra rare International Harvester marked (Springfield Armory made) postage stamp M1 garand. Early in their production contract, International Harvester was having difficulty getting started with the contract secondary to production issues. Springfield made approximately 1600 receivers and provided them to IHC. The first 1000 or so were marked with "Arrowhead" style lettering. The next 600 or so were marked like this with the standard "postage stamp" markings. That makes this the rarest "variant" in IHC collector serial blocks. This one appears to be correct for an early production IHC. Barrel readings are 1 TE, 0.5 ME. 3-53 LMR barrel. The super rare right-side marked ordnance wheel stock is present. This will make a fine addition to any garand collection and is an extremely difficult hole to fill in an IHC variant collection. Ships to FFL or C&R. Shipping is insured and is $75 via FedEx.
