Description:
"

Colt 1851 Navy .36 Caliber Revolver. Inscribed on the backstrap Lewis Beard. The revolver was manufactured in 1862. The revolver is gray color overall with even light surface pitting. All visible numbers are matching. Cylinder has no visible number. The lever, barrel and brass parts are all matching. The numbers have an ""S"" suffix, and we don't know what the ""S"" suffix is about. We accessed ""CivilWarData"" and found nine Lewis Beards in the Union Army and two in the Confederate Army. We are unable to determine if the Lewis Beard may be a soldier or could be a civilian. The brass parts have a deep patina that is untouched. The action holds full cock only. The metal parts have light to medium pitting. The grips show wear and have one small chip, otherwise no chips or cracks. Interesting 1862 year inscribed Colt Navy.
