Description:
The item for sale is a Winchester SRC 38-55 in original condition. The carbine is exceptionally nice. It is unusual to see a later carbine (1921) chambered in 38-55 as the 30WCF carbine was the big seller. The barrel and magazine tube retain 98% bright blue with the barrel bands toning slightly. The carbine features a blade front sight and a ladder rear sight both being original and correct. The receiver retains considerable original blue toning to a patina. The saddle ring may be a replacement which is not unusual on these carbines. The wood is excellent without cracks or splits resulting in a fine fit to the receiver. There are a few minor impressions from handling. This carbine was fortunately well cared for since being manufactured in 1921. The bore is excellent. The action cycles as intended which results in this being a nice addition to any Winchester collection. Please include $45 for shipping and insurance. A FFL copy is required prior to shipping.
