Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Here we have an honest and true Brown Mfg Co Southerner derringer chambered in .41 rimfire caliber. The "Southerner" Derringer was a neat little turn-barrel pistol. Its name, emblazoned on the top of the barrel, was obviously intended to appeal to buyers south of the Mason-Dixon line, though incongruously it was manufactured in Newburyport, Mass., by Brown Mfg. Co.. These little deringers were made from 1866 to 1873. The frame is brass and the grips are rosewood. The barrel and trigger finish have worn off over the years and it has taken on a handsome warm grey patina. Most of the rollmarks are heavily worn but the Southerner name can be read on the top of the barrel. This little derringer would make a fine addition to an existing collection or a great way to start a new collection.
