Payment Types Accepted: Description: On Hold Sale Pending The Austrian Model 1842 was the standard infantry rifle of the Austrian military until the adoption of the 1854 Lorenz. Tens of thousands were imported by both sides during the US Civil War. The musket is in very good original condition 58 inches long with a 42 inch smooth bore 69 caliber barrel. The wood is full length very good dark brown unsanded condition. There are some unit markings or inspector marks behind the trigger gaurd. All metal has a brown patina. The front and rear sights are present and the nipple is in good condition.the lock functions fine. The musket is complete with sling swivels and original ramrod present.
