**RARE** 1865 Dated Springfield Musket and Bayonet in UNISSUED CONDITION(?).........Case color still visible!...I have only owned 1 of these.(1865 dated)..EVER! Type II configuration Springfield Model 1863 musket dated 1865 on barrel and lock. Standard 40" .58 caliber rifled National Army Bright polished barrel proofed at breech "V / P (Eagle head)" with blade front sight and 2 position rear sight. Case hardened lock marked with federal eagle and "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" ahead of cock. Fit with a 1-piece plain walnut military stock stamped with crisp "WJJ" and "ESA" inspector cartouches. Iron stock mountings include 3 spring-retained bands, 2-piece trigger guard, and "US" marked butt plate. Rifle is complete with ramrod, wood muzzle cap, and "US" marked socket bayonet.
CONDITION: LIKELY UNISSUED condition. In the white components remain bright with some minor, scattered spots. Lock retains portions of faded case colors. Stock is very fine with some minor marks. 2 RAZOR SHARP CARTOUCHES!!!...Excellent, bright bore showing crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Dark spot in front of lockplate appears ro be a spot of wood stain, not a repair. ....S/H $55...2nd firearm ships FREE with this one!....Thanks, Greg #266-267, 332-333
