Here we have an honest Winchester Model 72 bolt action rifle chambered in .22 long rifle caliber. The Winchester Model 72 is an American bolt-action .22 caliber sporting rifles produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company from 1938 to 1959. Available in a number of configurations, the Model 72 was Winchester's first design for a tube magazine-fed rifle. This fine rifle has some high edge wear and retains almost all of it's original finish. The rifle has very few marks of any kind. There are a very few small marks on the barrel and some blue has been lost at the muzzle. The 25 inch barrel has a very good bore with strong rifling and a dovetailed front sight with an elevation adjustable rear. The trigger guard finish has worn to a warm grey patina. The butt plate has no cracks or chips. This rifle has been well cared for over the years and would make a strong addition to an existing collection or a great way to start a new collection.
