Description:
This is a very nice set of two Dueling Colt Deringer pistols. These are 4th Model examples, manufactured between 1959-1963. The guns are one serial number away from being consecutively-numbered. They come in a really nice red velvet-lined Colt hard case with a gold plate on the outside to engrave someone's name (currently blank). Both pistols are in nice condition, but 54898D shows fewer signs of use. On both pistols, the light gold wash on the frames has mostly worn away and there are tiny dots of discoloration. 54900D shows signs of wear along the barrel. 54898D has a bore that is near mint. 54900D has an excellent bore, but there are some tiny dots of oxidation. Both have excellent wood grips.
