Description:
This is a very nice example of a DWM Luger that was originally issued to the Imperial German military in 1915, as evidenced by the Imperial proofs on the right side of the slide. It was then diverted to the police, as evidenced by the added police sear safety and two matching police arsenal-numbered magazines. The magazines have aluminum bottoms marked " *K", a police marking. The gun also comes with a 1916-dated police-style holster. The holster is numbered and has police unit markings, but does not match the gun. The nature of the stitching marks leads us to believe this was originally a military holster converted to the police configuration, likely done at a police arsenal. The gun is all matching except for the rear toggle pin and has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original bluing. The majority of the finish loss comes in the form of spotty wear on the grip straps, where there is also some freckling. There is somewhat scratchy wear on the side plate and areas of minor wear on the side rails, around the muzzle, and on the left side of the barrel. Comes with un-numbered wood grips - small chip in the top corner of the left panel. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor pin-pricking throughout.
