This is a rare 1908 First Issue DWM military Luger in good condition. There were only 25,000 1st issue examples produced, and roughly 6,000 were unit marked. This one appears to have had a unit marking on the front strap that was removed for unknown reason. The first issue Lugers were the first military produced Lugers in 9mm, as this was one of the most requested changes in response to the earlier 1902 and 1906 models. The pistol is all matching except for the firing pin, which is mismatched. Toggle pin is correctly unnumbered, and the gun correctly has no hold open or stock lug. The bluing on the gun is excellent overall, aside from the scrubbed marking on front strap. There is freckling all around the barrel though. The grips are unmarked with minor smoothing but no cracks or chips. WW1-era magazine with unmarked wood base. Bore shows notable wear with freckling and frost throughout.
