Description:
Offered for sale is one (1) Mauser K98 code DOT 1944 (Brunn) serial # 5765av, caliber 8mm Mauser.  Serial number is all matching throughout the gun.  That would included the front milled barrel band, rear band (5765 parallel to sling loop), the floor plate stamped byf over 5765 over e/135), barrel, and bolt assembly including the firing pin.  The trigger guard body just behind front screw is stamped "byf" over e/135.  Also, the trigger guard body has lock screws.  The magazine follower is stamped "lxr".  On the left underside of the barrel, is the barrel code, dot/13 in a shield, followed by "HG" e/63.  The serial number is also stamped in the barrel channel of the stock (with no suffix) and the barrel channel of the forearm.  In the barrel channel of the stock, there is also an "S" hand written just in front of the stock lug recess.  Front ring of receiver has two e/63 stamps on right side.  By this time of the war, the K98 DOT weapons did not receive a serial number on the exterior of the action, the rear sight, or the butt plate.  The stock is still in the original unsanded condtion with "DOT" stamps on the handguard top, and the butt stock keel.  Stock is not duffle bag cut and is in excellent condition.  Also stamped on the right side of the butt stock is the final inspection stamp, the eagle/H stamp.  Bore is mirror bright.  This particular example is a transitional piece in the bayonet lug end of the rifle.  The provision for the cleaning rod has been elimated, but the bayonet lug is still present.  Toward the later part of 1944, the bayonet lug would also be elimated.  The bolt has the late war round gas escape holes, as opposed to the earlier oval shape.  No import marks, all original condition.   A very nice example of a late war K98 in an overall 96%+ original condition.  For sale in Lower 48 States USA.  Shipping included for lower USA 48.  If for Alaska, shipping add $45.  I ship through a local dealer, so when payment arrives/clears, they will contact you for the license.  Or include a copy with your payment.
