Description:
Serial #46849, .22 RF, 3 3/16" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves in spots. This is a nice little revolver that has retained 50-60% of the original blue and the balance turned to a smooth plum-brown patina with silvering along the high and exposed edges. The cylinder has a moderate turn-ring, with some mild pinprick pitting on the face, and matching assembly numbers are present on the frame, barrel , and cylinder ("8F"). The rosewood grips, numbered to the gun on the interior, are in very good-fine shape, with only some minor surface marks and small bruises on either panel. The barrel lock-up is still fairly tight with some lateral play in the barrel, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a very good plus example of a 3rd Issue No. 1 S&W, and would make a nice addition to any collection. Antique
