Description:
Serial #704010, .38 S&W, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is one of the early pre-prefix revolvers and has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor. The metal retains about 90-92% of the original "Black Magic" finish with scratches and silvering along the barrel, as well as along the high edges and bearing surfaces. The hammer and trigger have retained about 80-85% of the original color case-hardening, and extensive post-war Birmingham commercial proofs are present on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The checkered walnut, diamond-center grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in good-near very good condition with some flattening of the points, and small chips missing around the butt. The lock-up is still tight, and the original lanyard swivel is still in place. This is a fine example of a WW2 British contract S&W, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
