This is a 1913-made rifle that has retained about 80-85% of the original blue finish, with plum-brown fading on the balance, and mild silvering starting to appear along the edges and projections. The lever has a mottled gray-brown patina with traces of bright original color case-hardening still visible on the loop where it meets the locking blocks, and further color case-hardening still remains on the sides of the hammer. Gray metal is also visible on the underside of the frame at the carry point. The walnut forend and buttstock are in fine condition with only minor handling marks scattered about the original varnish. The rifle is fitted with a sporting front blade and semi-buckhorn rear sight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a splendid example of a Model 1892 rifle, in a terrific chambering, and would make a superb addition to a collection.
