Dealer marked J.G. Bolin N.Y., other markings on barrel PATENTED 1837 , CAST STEEL. ALLEN & THURBER j.G BOLEN N.Y. Floral engraving on frame and Nipple shield. ALLENS PATENT on hammer. Very good condition with metal showing no pitting or discoloration.works perfectly with good hammer pull and barrel rotation. These Allen guns were very popular and outsold Colts and Remingtons in the 1830 to 1866 period, due to thier relatively reasonnable price and utility. even the San Francisco 49ers crried them.
