James Purdey & Sons Best Sidelock 16 Gauge
A very early and interesting best gun from Purdey. This gun dates about 1883 and has the fleur de lis engraved fences. It is an assisted opening gun with cocking indicators. Double trigger gun with articulated front trigger. This shotgun has great handling and feel at 5 pounds 15 ounces. The condition of the engraving is fair with it being softened. The replacement barrels are in excellent shape. The wood is in very nice condition with a straight grip and a gold oval. This gun would look great with a leather pad added. Shotgun comes with a leather/oak case. Has a vintage nickel oil container and cleaning rod.
