This is a unique example of a very rare early experimental/prototype J. P. Sauer and Sohns Model 38H in the unique 9 mm Kurz (380 auto) caliber. These 9 m/m Kurz pistols were produced on a very limited/experimental basis with a few examples known today. It has the polished blue finish on the frame and slide. The left side of slide is marked with the short factory markings: \"J.P. SAUER & SOHN SUHL/CAL. 9 K.\", and right side of the slide is marked \"PATENT\". The slide is fitted with a standard blued fixed rear sight. The right rear side of the frame, slide and front edge of the barrel are all stamped with a single \"Crown/N\" commercial proof. The serial number (210041) is stamped on the right rear side of the frame above the grip. There is a small crack on the right side of the original checkered black plastic grips (very common with the early models of the 38h) with the Sauer monogram on the lower left side. It comes with two original magazines, the base plate is marked with the intertwined \"SS\" factory logo with caliber 9K markings, It comes with a unmarked brown leather holster and C.O.A. from the US Forces European Theater Headquarters as shown in pictures. A similar pistol (not in as good condition) recently sold on Rock Island s for $28,750 + 10% buyer premium.
