Description:
Marlin 336 Cowboy .30-30, octagon barrel. This is not 100% original. Somewhere along the line the muzzle was crowned, looks to be a decent job but left in the white. The blueing is slightly brown/plum around the rear sight. Lastly, the rifle wouldn’t stay cocked, hammer notch had been stoned down too far. New Marlin hammer and a Wild West Guns sear were installed. It stays cocked now, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of pressure between the hammer and sear. May need a heavier hammer or sear spring. Rifle is being sold as-is with the caveat that buyer understands it must be checked out by a gunsmith to ensure the hammer/sear engagement is safe. Buyer must sign as-is waiver agreeing to have rifle checked by gunsmith. Wood overall is very nice as is the rest of the blueing. $50 shipping to FFL.
