Single shot percussion US Model 1842 military pistol made by H.Aston & company Middletown, Conn. 8.5 "bbl.
54 Cal, O/A length 14 .5 ".Lockplate has standard markings-US H.ASTON in front of lock, tail marked MIDDLTN CONN! 1847. barel is marked with standard govt proofs under small US and tang is marked small 1849; and backstrap has a small H inspectors mark.
Condition; overall very good, brass is bright, metal is bright markings are clear and very readble with no dents, corrosion etc, bore is good with no major corrosion, wood looks great,as refinished, no cracks, chips, repairs,etc
