Here is an honest and original Belgian Browning Sweet 16. Manufactured in 1969, this Auto-5 shows signs of honest wear and features a 28" barrel with ventilated rib, fixed full choke, checkered walnut stock set, gold-plated trigger, and factory scroll engraving on the receiver. This Auto-5 retains a large majority of its original blue finish with the exception of various scattered handling marks, high-edge wear, and bluing loss along the receiver due to carrying and field use. The checkered walnut stock set is in good overall condition and does show signs of finish checking, various scattered handling marks/dings, and a handful of hairline cracks. The stock has two 1/4" hairline cracks where the top tang meets the stock and the forend has one 1" crack on the left side near the tube cut-off. The cracks do not appear to affect the integrity of the wood in any way and are in commonly seen locations for Auto-5s. The factory buttplate is still intact and shows no signs of cracking, just various little dings and common handling marks. All the mechanical aspects of this shotgun function 100% and the bore is pristine with no signs of pitting. The original gold-plating on the trigger is still visible but it does show signs of plating loss on the high edges and front face. All the factory markings and engravings are fully visible and the action functions flawlessly. This vintage and sought-after Sweet-16 Auto-5 would make an outstanding field shotgun or neat restoration project for an Auto-5 collector. The Sweet 16s are getting harder and harder to find and the price just keeps climbing. Don't miss your opportunity to snag one while you still can!
