This is a Colt pre war 38 super nickel plated pistol Ser# 24799 with a Colt letter. shipped to Manila Philippines on March 23rd. 1937. All original nickel with Mother of pearl grips. I believe to be original grips with a paper spacer to protect from breaking, The barrel is marked Super 38 auto. and has a excellent bore.Correct vintage magazine, Slide is numbered to the frame. The gun is very tight and functions perfect. A landyard loop was added somewhere in it life , probable by a soldier. It could have been a philippine ,Japanese, or american soldier. There surely is a lot of ww2 history in this piece. Only 900 pistols in 38super were nickel Plated pre war.The finish is a little scratched in many places but still is a good looking pistol. These nickel pistols pre war are very rare to find. 200 supers were shipped with mother of pearl. Its very tight and the interior is very nice. A rare find for your collection.
