This Winchester M-70 220 Swift was mfg abt 1950, Serial No. 302XXX . It is to me an all original unmolested
Very Good example of a rare iconic piece of craftmanship that shows good maintaince and care. The
woodstock shows some normal thinning of the medium dark walnut finish. There are no cracks, dents & only a small
mark at the grip.
The checkering is very good in both the grip and forearm areas. The Bluing is abt 95-98% w/the correct "Diamond
Rear Flip Sight" & Hooded FrontSight. The scope rings, mount are Lyman & match w/the Lyman 20X Scope are mint w/Glass being perfect.
The receiver area isshows no markings. The trigger guard & floorplate have no edge wear. The action is superb and tight.
The bore is shiney and has a very distinct rifling &the muzzle is excellent.
Overal - considering it's age period I would rate it an an "NRA" Very Good to Excellent. These Model Seventies
in this caliber are becoming very rare. This M70 220 "Swift" would to me appeal to both an ardent bench shooter & the Winchester Collector.
