Reilly 16 bore island locks back action for quick action upland gunning. At just 5lb 14oz with the power and lethal pattern of a 16 bore this is an ideal gun to carry afield for a day of pheasant, sharptails or chukars. Reilly no. 27659 was made circa 1875 – 87 and has some of the nicest figured Damascus barrels you’ll ever see. *** The 29” Damascus barrels were re-proofed for nitro smokeless powders with 2-1/2” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib. The Damascus barrels are very highly figured with a few very small rub marks. The right barrel is bored 0.678 with a constriction of 0.024 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.024. The left barrel is bored 0.681 and has a constriction of 0.027 for Improved Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.021. *** The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are made of figured European walnut. It has very fine checkering and the forearm has an ebony tip. There is a professionally done repair of a few cracks near the rear of the sideplates. Stock dimensions are 14-3/8” by 1-5/8” by 2-3/8”.
