Description:
"

This 1810 dated U.S. Model 1795 Harpers Ferry musked is altered to percussion using a drum bolster, an alteration that was often used by the Confederacy. The appprox. 42"" (originally 44""-45"") 69 caliber smooth bore barrel has a fair bore. All the metal has a smooth brown patina. The lock is marked HARPERS over FERRY over 1810 at the tail. The eagle over US is visible at the center. The barrel tang is broken (and missing) at the attachment screw. The stock is fair with wood missing along the barrel. A replacement ramrod is present and the swivels are absent. The rear band spring is absent. The action functions correctly. A wood plug in the muzzle holds a 1795 bayonet (will not attach to the barrel as no lug is present). The bayonet is fair with overall roughness. It is marked C US. This would make a good wall hanger or restoration/parts project.
